On behalf of St. Sebastian’s by the Sea, I am writing this to let everyone know that our Endowment Fund is now up and running. Endowments are a great way to remember not only the church but to leave a living memorial for our loved ones. There are many different ways you can contribute to the Endowment Fund. We have tracts in the back of the church with some great information about contributing to the fund.

The Book of Common Prayer states on page 445, “The Minister of the Congregation is directed to instruct the people, from time to time, about the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provision for the well-being of their families, and of all persons to make wills, while they are in health, arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods, not neglecting, if they are able, to leave bequests for religious and charitable uses.”

The Endowment Committee is hard at work establishing a Fund that can be trusted to do just as the prayer book suggests. There are five members on this committee representing the body of believers at St. Sebastian’s. The rector of the church is serving on the committee as a voice and advisor. Some wonderful ideas are coming forth. We should all be excited for this wonderful endeavor.

If you seek any further information on our Endowment Fund, please give the office a call at 321-723-3015 and we will connect you with the appropriate person who can answer your questions. In the meantime, I would invite all family and friends of St. Sebastian by the Sea to consider making the church a very real part of your estate planning. Many times we don’t know what to do to be assured that there is a place of worship for those who will follow us. This is an opportunity to make that a reality. Please consider St. Sebastian in your will or begin to make a contribution today using one of the options available to you. It will warm your heart to know you continue to contribute to the ministry of the church for years to come.

To understand more, click on the link for the Letter of Understanding. It will provide you will the guidelines our committee follows to not only establish this Fund but to oversee it in the years to come.

Remember, this is not going to affect your pledge or any capital improvement projects the church might be involved in. It is another opportunity to remember the great ministry of the church as it serves God for years to come.
